Songs and Voices
Your task is to compose and sing at least one version of the following song –
Title: Who Am I (What’s My Name)?
These songs can be documented any way you want, but you must upload them please.
Who Am I (What’s My Name)? is a number one hit – to sing it you just open your mouth and let it pour out.
The verse is a song of praise to yourself and lists all the positive aspects of your personality and being – for example you could think about a national anthem mixed with a love song – moving from the specific such as – “I have a lovely coloured freckle in an interesting place” to the more general “my hair is long and growing, whoa, whoa, whoa” . It can include any topics related to you and your individual interests for example: things I’m afraid of, my favourite day, a description of the moon, my birth, my first breath, my favourite things…whatever you like that relates to your past present and future.
The other rule is that the chorus is based on your name – for example Emma Fitzgerald’s chorus is like this,
“Emmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaaa” with many changes of pitch on the “mmm”
Have fun and write as many versions as you want! You can of course use instrumentation if you wish – ranging from glass bottles to guitars, whatever you are interested in the sound of, no experience necessary – so get creative! And remember, how and where you sing is not nearly as important as the fact that you do sing.
