Organisation contains a word organ. What are the functions of an organ and the power of its functions?
Organ is part of a bigger reality, working along-side with other organs helping the whole body to function, keeping it alive in fact. Organisation is part of bigger reality, and as part of this bigger existence maintains the engine going alongside with other organisations…forms society. Organisation as an active organ-the greater self.
Learning starts from digesting information and then making it part of you. Part of learning is to discover habits and patterns. Patterns are resisting learning and breaking through these patterns we allow room for new knowledge and understanding. Habits form structure. How do we structure chaos? In my understanding there is structure within chaos as well, yet this doesn’t become a structure until we have realised this structure and as we realise it, it seems to become a pattern. Structuring chaos can happen by forming frames that hold the structure, yet allow unpredictable to happen within it.
There is tension between chaos and order. This in my opinion also exists in the usage and mixing of contrasting elements together, i.e. commercial imaginary with nude body. Antony Micallef’s work is one good example of overlapping imaginary within the same image, where he would mix Japanese manga style, graphic design and image of innocence with disturbed dark faces and references of deviltry etc.
Tension is necessary in art, nature, society to keep energies balanced. If we were all the same with same thinking and qualities, we would have created a perfectivity that is totally against any natural response to the world and life. This is an artificial world that is at times created on stage, which is presenting and illusion that has little or none resemblance towards the natural order, chaos and life of the universe.
Thinking of the body as a machine producing energy. What do we do to the excess energy? Energy seems to be never lost, but it is transformed. What is the relationship between power, energy and form? We are carrying our excess power within. Body maps. Our body is like a map or non-linear timeline that travels our past, present and attempt to future. To an extend we carry within each person we’ve been with, events that have taken place, places we’ve been to, seen, scents we have smelled, sounds we have heard….and these interconnected existences imprint us. Our memory memorises in its own terms, it takes freedom, liberty and adjusts to our feelings at the present. We also constantly for our past, present and future that is altered due to our current circumstance. There is a difference also to carry these things within and to get heavier by them. There is a fine line on how one can make the most energy out of time and when one can in fact be stopped or resisted by it. In more specific resisted by the way they use the time and energy from it. Do we make our energy, where energy is just energy and we form it to the kind of energy?
The Hive mind brought different energies travelling in same space to this big lump of somethings. For me there were some clear sensations on the body, such as ovaries, mind, spirit, rhythm and emotions. There were questions on primal existence and our connection to this existence that seems at times to be so far away from the way we live and conduct ourselves in the present society. How do we live in our body without trying to own it, yet co-existing with it in harmony? By living in harmony with the self, with the other within and the other outside.
How is the experience of an identity different and the same to the presentation of an identity?
Choreography is a strong enough idea to pull movement into organised order. Choreographic object is an abstraction, metaphor. Choreographic devices are anything and everything. Current need to change ecology around. Randomness is a stochastic approach, where process has aim but is subjected to surrounding forces. There are no strict links between one and another. No solution making but openness to everything affects everything. Flowing quality within research, where change affects something. Notion of change. Presence and present. Consciousness creates order in chaos. Energy is organised into power.
What is freedom? What is individual freedom within group dynamics and politics? How is the self affected by his/ her surroundings and how much can one separate oneself away from the co-dependency. When does a group transform from organic connectivity and possibility to close minded and manipulative? I am referring for example big group movements such as religious societies and sub-cultural movements. There is freedom within the groups and perhaps a sense of belonging and revelation, yet this often turns into closed mindedness. Where is this change, why and how???? How does an individual lose their own sense of being and with this I mean that sense that is not common to any other and is influenced and affected by the other, yet does not belong or urge to belong to the other? Where does that soul travel or sell itself to? How do we maintain a balance of individualism alongside to the acknowledgement of co-dependency and interconnectedness?
